Home COPA-DATA & Career Press & News Newsroom COPA-DATA CEE/ME reports impressive growth and strengthens market position

The COPA-DATA Group concluded the 2024 financial year with revenues of €99 million and a growth rate of 14 percent, further strengthening its global market position. In the Central and Eastern Europe/Middle East (CEE/ME) region, COPA-DATA achieved record revenues of €10.2 million, marking an impressive 25 percent increase compared to the previous year. A key contributor to this success was the energy sector.

Success factors: Innovation in the energy sector and life sciences

The primary growth driver in 2024 was the "Twin Transition" – simultaneous ecological and digital transformation. COPA-DATA has particularly focused on renewable energy, where demand for solutions in sustainable energy production, efficient transmission, distribution, and storage has significantly increased. The zenon software platform plays a crucial role in optimizing industrial processes and facilities, enabling companies to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. This not only decreases the carbon footprint but also leads to sustainable reductions in operational costs. As an Associate Partner of the World Economic Forum (WEF), COPA-DATA actively contributed to the Industry Net Zero Accelerator Initiative in 2024, leveraging its expertise to drive climate neutrality. As part of this initiative, the success story with Carlsberg was published, showcasing how zenon helps global corporations achieve their ambitious climate goals.

COPA-DATA also experienced significant success in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. Given the strict regulatory requirements for modular and validation-compliant production processes in this sector, COPA-DATA supports companies in automating these processes while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

"Our growth demonstrates that automation, digitalization, and sustainability are the key factors for the Twin Transition in the energy sector and manufacturing industries," explains Johannes Petrowisch, Managing Director of COPA-DATA CEE/ME. "With our no-code solutions based on vendor independence and standardization, we create direct added value for our customers, helping them become more resilient and navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world."

COPA-DATA Group achieves global turnover of €99 million

Globally, the COPA-DATA Group achieved revenues of €99 million with a growth rate of 14 percent. This positive development highlights the strong global demand for digital automation and software solutions. A key milestone in the company’s international expansion was the establishment of the subsidiary COPA-DATA Japan in December 2024. With an office in the Shinagawa Grand Central Tower in Tokyo, led by Managing Director Tadataka Une, COPA-DATA is strengthening its position in the Asian market, particularly in the pharmaceutical and energy sectors. The company has established itself as a leading provider of industrial automation solutions and plays a crucial role in the digital transformation of industry.

COPA-DATA wins Silver Export Award from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce

Another highlight of the year was receiving the Silver Export Award from the Austrian Economic Chamber. With an export share of 85.9 percent of total revenues amounting to €87 million in 2023, COPA-DATA was honored with the Silver Export Award on June 17, 2024. The company’s commitment to sustainable, digital solutions for the manufacturing and energy sectors, supported by the zenon software platform, received significant recognition. This award underscores COPA-DATA’s strong international presence and the trust it has earned worldwide.

Outlook for 2025: Focus on renewable energy and sustainable transformation

For 2025, COPA-DATA CEE/ME will continue to expand its portfolio in the areas of renewable energy and digitalization. Another key focus will be the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. "Digital transformation will continue to gain momentum in the coming years, driven in part by artificial intelligence,” emphasizes Johannes Petrowisch. "COPA-DATA will continue to offer innovative solutions that help our customers to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and shape a sustainable future."
